Big Girl Shoes

In celebration of Gracie walking (finally) and the change of seasons around here making sandals inappropriate, we got Gracie some Big Girl tennis shoes this weekend. She loves them. Adores them even. She would wear them to bed if I let her. She wants them on all the time and asks as soon as she wakes up to put them on. So even in PJ's my girl is stylin' walking around the house in her new shoes, sparkly and pink, no less.

A love of shoes might be the best thing she'll inherit from me.

Sick and Tired

Literally.

My nose got stuffy around 7pm last night and it was downhill from there. I went to bed around 10pm, leaving Sean to top off the baby and get a few good hours of sleep before his 2am wake up call.

No dice.

I was up wiping my running nose and thinking about my raging headache until, during, and after said wake up call. Ugh. I finally passed out around 3:30am, giving me about 3.5 hours of sleep before everyone was up. *whine*
The good news is that Sean took the twins to daycare (as it is Tuesday!) and its juts Ben and I while he went hiking. One baby I can handle. I just have to make it until 6:30 (twins' bedtime) and I was promised a Tylenol PM and permission to pass out for as long as need be. Here's hoping this is just a 24 hour something or other!

Not Me Monday

I most certainly did NOT find my toddler elbow deep in our toilet the other morning. We always make sure the bathroom door is closed to prevent such atrocities. In addition, our toilet is always clean and flushed so the incident wasn't made even more disgusting. Ahem.

Upon finding said toddler, I surely would not have just washed him in the sink and coat him in a thick layer of Purel so that we could hurry and leave for daycare. Nope, I would have given him a proper scrub down in the bath for sure!

Play along!

Gracie is Walking!

We have waited a long time for Miss Grace to catch up to her brother and this last month she has really grown a lot. She went from sitting to crawling, pulling herself up and now walking within like 6 weeks! Last week was just a few steps at a time, but now she is growing more confident and trying to walk everywhere. I am officially in the throes of Toddlerhood here! So proud of my little girl!

Richmond Beach

We mustered some energy and took the crew to a local park/beach yesterday. So glad we did because (as often happens in Seattle) we woke up to find summer gone this morning. Yesterday was sunshine and 84, today is pouring down rain. I'm glad we went incase it was our last hurrah. Which begs the questions: what are we going to do copped up in our 780 sq ft all fall/winter?!!! What do you do?

For now, some pictures:

Gracie and Daddy, she is up to 7 steps at a time on her own. Walking holding his hand is still her all time favorite mode of transportation.

The closest they've been to the Puget Sound

My little explorer

Seriously? We learned that in addition to eating sand, Gracie enjoys a good stick licking as well. GROSS.

Benny was actually awake too!

No Room at the Inn

and by "Inn" I mean daycare. Who could turn away this face?

So frustrated, we found out today that our in home daycare provider gave away Baby B's "spot". Since I'm not working full time the twins have only been going 2 days a week and we weren't planning to take new baby until November. She needed the money so she took a new baby and now she is at her limit. So basically now I can't get a job because I won't have childcare for him! I cried a lot this morning feeling like we are getting pummeled here. Job loss led to not being able to move and now I feel like I am forced to stay home full-time which I really didn't want to do. I can handle it for a couple of months, but not for a year with 3 under 2! I need breaks, I need adult interaction! I don't know what we are going to do. I don't have a job anyway, but I was applying for a few and I feel defeated already. I know God has a plan for us, but I just wish He would give me a peek.
