Fall

and I'm not talking seasons.

Saturday Benny and I went to check out a local MoM sale at my church and I tripped on the way in. He was in a bjorn and I stumbled forward and then fell. on. top. of. him.

I remember screaming "Oh My God" a few times just sitting on the pavement before women rushed to help me. Today I am thanking God that Benny is perfectly healthy and we can't find a scratch on him. I am thankful two of the people to came to help me had medical training with infants and calmed me down. I am thankful they knew what to look for and and I needed to do. I am thankful the paramedics that arrived were fathers and also were wonderful to me/us, talking about potty training and funny kid stories to distract me on the ride to Children's hospital. I am thankful that my scraped up knuckles and achy shoulder are a reminder of God's protection of my baby, and that I can easily deal with a little pain if it means my 7 week old has NONE. I am thankful that what was red showing where he hit his head, faded quickly without leaving the concussion or brain swelling they warned me about. I am thankful that in freaking out I didn't have my phone with me to call Sean, I remembered that my friend Breanne just happened to have left hers in my car the day before.

Thank you Father for reminding me this Fall that you are here, protecting and providing for my family in ways I may not even see.

Good-bye Sweet Curls

We are taking Tate to get a hair cut today! The curls are precious and I love them, but they are getting too long and unruly. I will probably cry. Here is my tribute to his luxurious locks:

Big Girl Shoes

In celebration of Gracie walking (finally) and the change of seasons around here making sandals inappropriate, we got Gracie some Big Girl tennis shoes this weekend. She loves them. Adores them even. She would wear them to bed if I let her. She wants them on all the time and asks as soon as she wakes up to put them on. So even in PJ's my girl is stylin' walking around the house in her new shoes, sparkly and pink, no less.

A love of shoes might be the best thing she'll inherit from me.

Sick and Tired

Literally.

My nose got stuffy around 7pm last night and it was downhill from there. I went to bed around 10pm, leaving Sean to top off the baby and get a few good hours of sleep before his 2am wake up call.

No dice.

I was up wiping my running nose and thinking about my raging headache until, during, and after said wake up call. Ugh. I finally passed out around 3:30am, giving me about 3.5 hours of sleep before everyone was up. *whine*
The good news is that Sean took the twins to daycare (as it is Tuesday!) and its juts Ben and I while he went hiking. One baby I can handle. I just have to make it until 6:30 (twins' bedtime) and I was promised a Tylenol PM and permission to pass out for as long as need be. Here's hoping this is just a 24 hour something or other!
