Sweet Angels

Sydney joined her sister tonight. Please continue to pray for Brook's family as they remember their angels. We are continuing to raise funds for them and possibly some kind of memorial project for the girls. Check out my side bar to donate.

Horrible News

Brook and her family have lost one of their sweet girls, Carynne. Many of us have been praying for them and raising money for their family as they try to somehow say goodbye to their baby girls. My only solace is that she is resting peacefully with Jesus now, free of discomfort and her disease. Please keep their family in your prayers.

I also got word today that a local family in my multiples club lost their mom this week due to a car accident.  She leaves behind her husband and 5 year old twin boys! I don't know how to make sense of any of this. It is too painful to imagine. These stories keep me humbled and incredibly grateful for my healthy family and friends. Peace and comfort for all who are grieving this week.

It's been a good week. The babies are feeling better and are back to their silly selves. Tater is going to crawl any second and Gracie's long stories keep us laughing.  Sean and I are close to kicking this cold too.  We both cough a bit, but nowhere near the crapfest that last week was.
I am feeling good on the pregnancy front too.  I haven't gained very much weight (especially considering the endless number of Big Macs I've been eating).   This is a tough time of year though in school.  I don't get a break until spring break in April.  The kids are going nuts and driving me crazy some days. I don't think the pregnancy hormones help in that department.  I almost told a kid to "quit it-you're bugging me" the other day, but I resisted.  They frown on that.

"Threatened Miscarriage"

It has been an eventful 24 hours. Last night before bed I notice that I have blood all over my underwear, but I am not bleeding. Doc says come in in the morning.  This morning I wake up and look clean, but after going to the bathroom see blood in the toilet (sorry TMI), so my OB tells me to come over as soon as they open. I go to school, get a sub for the morning, start my class then go to the doctor. I have an ultrasound and it was a scary few minutes looking at the picture and not seeing anything move. Then the doctor saw the heartbeat, Thank God.  Everything looks good and frankly they don't know what my deal is. Maybe a clot (though they couldn't find one) or  possible sign of miscarriage.  They basically told me if it is a miscarriage there is nothing they can do at 15 weeks anyway.  So all signs look good and I am just supposed to take it easy this weekend and wait. Funny how life puts things into perspective quickly. Not sure how you feel about a pregnancy? Let's threaten to make it disappear!  It clarified things fast.  The tech said she thinks it is a boy.  We are excited now and praying for a healthy little brother to join us in August.

Update on Gracie

My girl is indeed sick!  She has a double ear infection, bronchitis and her cold got in her eyes so they are gooping. We got some antibiotics for her yesterday and I can already tell a difference this morning!  Her eyes were less crusty and her spirits are up.  Yay! I am glad I am home with her today still, but I think she will be happy to go to daycare with Tater tomorrow. I hope they are both healed soon, I miss my funny little babies!

Sick and Sicker

We are drowning in illness over here. They have had colds since LAST weekend, bust just when I thought they were on the mend yesterday Tate barfs all over me (1st real throw up! What a milestone) then we realize Gracie has a fever.  Today they are up too early and they still have their raging coughs. We called the doc about their coughs last Monday, but they said without a fever it was fine (even though Gracie was literally honking). Which brings me to my little girl- she has a fever of 101 today along with just being plain miserable.  Coughing up a lung and now I am afraid pink eye in BOTH eyes!  They started gooping (probably not a word) this morning and it's juts increased since then. They are red exactly, but either way she is lethargic, just wants to lay on us to sleep and then my poking around her eye makes her cry, and cry.....and cry.  It's truly pathetic to look at her. Gladly, she is still eating her bottle. I don't want to add dehydration to the mix.  Sean is going to take her to the doc tomorrow.  I won't take no for an answer!  We called the on call doc tonight and he never called back! Rude!  Anyway, we are blessed that they are still sleeping through the night even with sickness and Tate's 3 new teeth growing in. I am praying for a better tomorrow!
