G and T: *eyes wide*
T: I want a blue party!
G : Tate wants a blue party and I have a pink girl party!
Me: We can have cake and ice cream too!
G: I will eat it ALLL GONE!
Me: I'm sure you will
T: I want BLUE cake!
Me: and there will be some presents, too. Are there any presents you want for your birthday?
G: Wow! A present for tater and a present for gracie and a present for benny!
Me: Well Benny won't get a present until his birthday... but what KIND of present? Like toys or books?
T: toys!
G: I like books!
T: I want BLUE books!

Family Garden
We have begun the process of putting in a raised bed garden to grow our on veggies. All in an effort to stick with this whole/natural as possible food plan. We went to the nursery today and the kids picked out rainbow carrots (they grow in surprise colors!), pumpkin seeds, lettuce, green and red tomatoes. We are starting these indoors in these cute little kits. Sean is out working hard in the rain as I write. He got a good hour of sunshine, but needs to just get it done. The kids are actually napping so we couldn't waste the chance!
Here are a couple pics of Gracie helping bring in the new soil. More to come!

Random
While I was gone Sean got some balloons for the kids. Benny latched onto this one and held it through dinner. I guess he didn't let go once all night.

So then Sean let him sleep with it. He assumed he would just let it go, but that little monkey tucked it under his belly so it would stay while he slept. I'm quite impressed actually. :)

G and T are up to the usual madness. Loving and fighting, singing and dancing, giggling together a lot, which I love to see.

Before I left I got a pedicure and they were blown away by colors on my toes. It was hilarious, Gracie kept licking her finger and touching my big toe to see if it would come off. This, of course, led to their toes getting painted. To be fair,Tate did want blue, but that's not a color I keep on hand.

MIA for SAGA
I have been so busy with preparing for and taking a fabulous trip with some amazing MoMs that my poor little blog has been sorely neglected. I will try to get her up and running tomorrow with some uber cute children.
For now here's some eye candy:

About 60 of us went to Savannah this year and I know what you're thinking-but not one of them turned out to be axe murderers. Turns out there are some fabulous communtities on the internet after all. ;)
Did my kids miss me? Not so much. They seemed to on my nightly phone call home, but when I actually saw them Gracie wouldn't speak to me, Benny said "NO! Daddy!" when I tried to kiss him, and Tate agreed he missed me, but wanted me to change his poop.
Business as usual.

1st Haircut!
We finally got Benny's hair cut. I have some mom guilt that we didn't take him to the fancy place we took Tate to get it cut, but $25 is a lot and I can just as easily take pictures and save the hair myself...sigh.
So his hair has been walking that line between baby curls and mullet for a few months now. It was time.

We did it at Grammy's house with my aunt as the hair stylist

He had a lot of moral support and distractions

We must have had him find his belly button a dozen times so she could cut a straight line...

We also needed to address this emo/ side sweep bang he developed.

He only got a little grumpy at the end.
Before:

After:

Not too drastic, but enough that people don't start calling him Benny Ray Cyrus.
Congrats on your 1st haircut big boy!

Dinner conversation
Conversations have hit a new low point at our house. I swear you shouldn't even come over unless you want to talk about poop, pee or snot.
During Dinner Tonight
Tate runs to the bathroom: "I have to go potty!"
I go with him and we sit while he gets to it.
Enter Gracie in the doorway with a mouth full of dinner.
G: "Going potty?"
T: "No, poopy."
G: "Oh, Big, giant?"
T: "No, little, tiny poopy"
G: "Oh okay. Be quiet you guys while I'm eating my dinner."
Leaves.
Long gone are the days of discussing current events and romance over dinner. With children, we are reduced to discussing the exact size and volume of our bowel movements.
Now, don't send all your dinner party invitations to us at once. We'd hate to have to turn anyone down.
